The Church Authorities gave permission to the four nuns who protested against Jalandhar to stay back in Kuravilangadu Convent. The nuns received letter regarding the matter sent by Jalandhar Diocese Administrator Bishop Agnelo Gracias.
The four nuns actively supported the nun, who gave complaint of sexual abuse against Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal. Following their support to the abused nun, the four sisters were transferred to four different places from Kuravilangadu convent by Missionaries of Jesus congregation.
The nuns stay at Kuravilangadu Convent with the victim. These four nuns had complained at the different forums of the church against the Jalandhar Bishop, but their complaints doesn’t pay heed.
Sister Anupama, one among the four nuns said that the transfer order was like a punishment to them as they protested against the Bishop.
The church cancelled the transfer orders as soon as the nuns began the second round of protest in Kottayam on Friday. A group of nuns held “Save Our Sisters” meet at Kottayam to support nuns on Saturday. Few people under the banner of Catholic Forum Activists, who supported Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulakkal staged protest in the meet against the nuns. Later, Police interefered and removed the protestors.
