On Thursday, Education Minister Raveendranath told that the government was seriously considering in bringing public instructions, higher secondary directorate and vocational higher secondary directorate under one board.
M A Khader, SCERT former director has been headed in a committee to make further steps in this regard. Currently, the committee is holding discussions with various collaborators in the sector to get the views regarding this plan. The government’s final decision will be based on the final report the committee submits.
The commission will submit the report only after studying the practicability of the planned move. The government believes that the arguments regarding the posts of principals and headmasters in the schools will be minimized if all the directorates come under one board.
The Minister said that, the government’s moves to strengthen the education sector in the state contributed good results. In the present academic year admissions to the government schools have increased. This year, approximately there has been an increase of 1.5 lakh students who look for admissions to government schools. The government is trying its best to provide maximum facilities in government schools to achieve an upgraded status for all schools in the state within a year.
